내 어릴 적 아궁이에는
눈물의 고자배기가 탄다
순이의 살 냄새가
둥그런 얼굴이
붉게 피어나는 웃음이 탄다
빈 골짜기
뿌리째 뽑아
한나절 뻐꾸기 울음이 탄다
내 마음은
가랑잎 같지는 않게
밤새도록 토실토실 살이 찌는
고자배기의 끈끈한 화력(火力)
불빛 속에
오천 년을 오르내리는
원목(原木)에의 그리움이 탄다.

At the fire hole in my childhood
Gojabaegies of tears burn
Suni's flesh smell
Her round face
Her red blooming smile burn
Pulling up empty valley
In half a day
The calls of cuckoos burn
My heart is
Gojabaegies' warm fire power
That makes plump all night long
Unlike dead leaves
In the fire light
Ones of about five thousands years
The longings for the native trees burn.
